The basic aim of the Very Sheltered Housing concept is simple - that is to enable retired people to retain their independence for the whole of their lives.

For more than 20 years, the Very Sheltered Housing model has been extremely successful in achieving this The vast majority of Owners at the Courts do indeed retain their independence for almost the whole of their lives and spend significantly less time in hospital or nursing care than the average population of people of the same age.
